I wish to provide tech support via remote access. However, jaws is a bit restrictive with their implementation.
1. Their tandom requires that the other computer has jaws installed as well.
2. Such limited accesibility requires $200 in addition to what you already have.
Anyone found any software that works?
I need full access to the other computer.
1. Browsing the file system and directories.
2. Access to the registry
3. Access to the net
4. Installing and uninstalling apps given admin rights
5. Basically, everything one does in front of their computer should be able to be performed via remote access.
If not jaws, is there any screen reader that works best with remote access softwares?
so, have they started charging for tamdem center now? and as for jaws being installed, if it's a blind user that's needing the help you'd want jaws there to help them that way, see if jaws is causing problems. otherwise, i'm not too sure how much luck you'd have. jaws claims to support remote desktop, i thin, but not sure.
No, they are not charging for tandem.
I doubt your ever going to get anything overly accessable since essentially all your getting from the remote box is a image. Several nice commandline solutions exist - ssh can be implamented on windows so that you can get at a command prompt but I don't think this is what you want really.
Obviously if your just supporting blind people then you can use something like RealVnc in combination with skype and use what ever sr they have on there machine, but doing tech support for blind people ... I dunno, most of us hardly have any money anyway.
I hope you find something.
There is also that RIM thing that serotek has.
I forget what that thing stands for.
I'm not sure how much they charge you for the service but it does give you control of the computer as if you were actually sitting in front of it.
yeah been meaning to look into RIM whichi think is remote incident manager and i believe they also have RAM which is remote access manager, but i think that one is limited to local area networks.
i was gonna suggest serotek's solution. just a thought, or team viewer. though i've never tried that before.
